Choose colours with confidence with three easy steps - place, point and pick. The red tonal estimator supplied with this colour wheel will help you to evaluate the tones of your chosen fabrics. By looking through the tonal estimator you will notice that the colour properties of the fabric are removed and the overall tone will appear light, medium or dark. This is extremely helpful when choosing feature fabrics for quilts and wall hangings.
Step 1 - Place
Place your colour wheel right side up onto your fabric, so that it shows through the window. Pick the shade around the window, which is the closest to your sample (eg A, B, C.....G).
Step 2 - Point
Point the indicator to choose the combination.
Step 3 - Pick
Pick the colours that will work welll together. Confirm your choice by placing the colour wheel right side up on your samples. Choose colours with the same shade letter.
