There is a convenitent slit on the upper side of the tape maker, where a pin can be used to help guide the beginning of the fabric strip towards the smaller opening, if necessary. Press the folded bias with an iron as it comes through the smaller end. Continue pressing, pulling the handle gently as you produce perfect bias.
